Running for a Cause and (A Little) Bragging Rights: Sevan Participates in the Army Ten-Miler for the Fourth Consecutive Year

The 33rd annual Army 10-Miler to benefit the U.S. Army MWR took place this past October in Washington, D.C. with 11 employees of Sevan Multi-Site Solutions at the start line. The Army Ten-Miler is one of MWR’s main events to help raise money while promoting the Army, build esprit de corps, support fitness goals, and enhance community relations

In the true spirit of friendly competition and charity, Sevan team members solicited pledges from friends, family, and coworkers to be donated to Fisher House, the charitable foundation Sevan supported for the race. Each member had a goal of raising $500.00 – and well exceeded their initial pledges.

Fisher House Foundation is best known for their network of comfort homes where military veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. Being a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), Sevan looks to be able to give back to the people and places where employees live and work – and raising funds to support the Fisher House hits home for our team.

“The unity with Sevan and The Fisher House is special, you know you represent the foundation, and it is an immediate bond,” said Haydon Osborne.

Donning their Fisher House running jerseys, team members crossed the finish line in front of the Pentagon after running through the scenic streets of Washington, D.C.. Michale Riendeau and Stacy Roye were the top finishers for Sevan with race times just over the 1.5 hour mark.

“Seeing the families at the race and getting to interact with the veterans who are impacted really brings to light how important these donations mean to them,” said Osborne.

Sevan proudly raised over $13,000 for Fisher House Foundation, being second overall in donations.

We thank our eleven road warriors: Jim Evans, Chris Groh, Brian Hennesy, Eileen Keller, Haydon Osborne, Angelica Poole, Scott Poole, Michael Riendeau, Stacy Roye, John Schneider, and Thomas Tyler for their eagerness to represent Sevan and Fisher House at this monumental event.
