CHALLENGE
Mahogany Whataburger has a development agreement with corporate that requires them to deliver multiple restaurants on a year-over-year (YOY) basis. They needed a partner to create a comprehensive delivery support solution and building their first restaurant in Athens, Alabama. This restaurant needed to be built within six months of breaking ground. They also needed help navigating issues with labor shortages, lead times for owner-supplied equipment and building equipment including, HVAC and electrical switch gears.
SOLUTION
Sevan is providing an integrated service solution that utilizes our site development, project management, architecture and engineering (A&E), civil zoning and permitting (CZP) and construction management teams. Sevan anticipated and identified necessary equipment and worked with Mahogany to preorder everything to stay on schedule. We then coordinated schedules with the GC and subcontractors to ensure materials and labor were available throughout the duration of the project.
RESULTS
This project stayed on schedule, was delivered in 24 weeks and finished under budget. We also worked with the owner to shape how they recruited and trained store staff to manage the process in a way that aligned with their development timeline. Sevan is now breaking ground on additional locations with more locations in planning and development.
